ANGELS

Plain white plaster has a charm of its own. The angel below has little terra-cotta spots on it. This was done intentionally by not cleaning the mold after using it with plaster that had pigment in it. Unpleasant results can be remedied with a finish.

Pure Plaster Angel

A finish that is common to the medium is gilding. You can use real gold leaf or implement one of several techniques to simulate it.

Golden Angel

Artist in residence, Anthony Hernandez, hand painted this tiny angel head. His classic style brings life to the plaster by giving it an immediate history.

Angel Face

Plaster and water are not best of friends. So to keep this angel sitting pretty in my bathroom it was cast in gypsum cement.
