Zip-Strip
has become a common household product in my home. Here I share some helpful
hints gathered over many stripathons.
Zip is potentially hazardous so strip with caution.
- ALWAYS read the manufacturer's
directions before starting and believe what is written and do what
it says!
- Always use in a well ventilated area.
Air exchange of 200 cubic feet per minute of every 1400 cubic feet
of room space. Cubic feet is determined by multiplying the length,
by the width, by the height of the room space. I use a fan to draw
the fumes out of the room but away from area being stripped to prevent
premature drying of the Zip-Strip.
- Give yourself necessary time to get
the job done! Try to finish what you start.
- Prepare your work area before beginning
the stripping.
- Organize all the tools you are
going to use.
- Cover the work area to avoid unwanted
mess and for easier cleanup with paper and drop clothes.
- Have water close by & food
prepared for when you break.
- Don't leave the Zip-Strip on to long
as it will re-harden. Not leaving it on long enough will cause extra
work. Don't be afraid to test it and you will come to understand the
necessary time for your project.
- Take before and after photos so when
you are done you can admire your work.
- Half way through you will ask yourself,
"Why did I ever start this project"? This is normal. Ignore
that feeling and it will go away.
- Clean the work area when done. Discard
waste according to the manufacture's label.
