Beauty & The Web

Interview/Photographs: Rick Bard

So I was at this dinner party, and everybody was exchanging cards, and almost everyone was www.com," explains Lisa Gaye, B-movie cult queen and now budding Web site designer. "When we were just out of our teens, we had our stereos and our eight tracks. Now they have their little Web sites!"
She has starred in several independent Troma Production films: "Toxic Avenger" (II and III) and "Class of Nuke ’em High" (II and III). In "Nuke’em High," she plays Professor Holt, a leader in biogenetic engineering. The cartoonish character won Lisa a 1993 "Best in B" Award from the USA Network’s "Up All Night."
It’s time to reveal her secret identity. First, a visual. She is in front of her apartment building when I arrive. Her loose fitting silky black pants are tied with a drawstring, a sequined black vest exposes her cult movie queen bare midriff and retro aviator sunglasses frame her face.

There is an air of mystery around her.
But...she also is holding a large green watering can, carefully sprinkling the flowers surrounding the trees on her street here in Manhattan. Yes, she planted them.
